History of the USS Don Johnson

The USS Don Johnson was oringally the USS Comanche, named after the Native American tribe. Image to the left is the USS Comanche on its shakedown cruise. The Comanche were a tribe native to North America around the 17th through 20th century before World War III. This starship was the first to ever bear the name of the tribe. Image to the right is the patch of the USS Comanche.

On 9803.14 the USS Comanche began her noble career as a Skeleton at the SOL 3 Ship Yards, In orbit of McKinley, Alaska, Earth. Initial construction on Hull Number 61701 began on Stardate 9003.15, but was cancelled on Stardate 9012.14, and delayed indefinately due to unknown reasons. Due to the ongoing conflict with the Dominion, Hull 61701 was once again pressed into reality due to The Federation's shortage of space worthy vesells. Construction on Hull 61701 recommenced on Stardate 9710.25, and was completed on Stardate 9808.12. On Stardate 9803.14, The Spaceframe was christened as the USS Comanche. On 9809.17 The USS Comanche was officially launched on Stardate 9809.17 under the command of Captain John Sea Stardate 9809.17 -- USS Comanche departs on her maiden voyage after completion at Earth Station McKinley under the Command of Captain John Sea.

Congratulatory messages are sent via subspace by USS Rutledge, USS Thomas Paine and USS Renegade. Original crew consists of Captain John Sea, LtJG Megan McGreggor, LtJG Michael Haley, Ensign Ross Rachmaninoff, Ensign Valar Mitchell, Ensign Michael Madison and Ensign Doug Grift. On 10105.17 the NCC-61701 USS Commanche hull was rechristened USS Don Johnson on stardate 10105.17 in memoriam of Don Johnson, the ship's late SM.
