Cunfiduin was left orphaned when the Borg nearly completely wiped out the El-Aurian homeworld. She had been an only child at that time.

A human couple who provided humanitarian assistance after the Borg attack felt drawn to the quiet yet strong child and eventually adopted her.

Cunfiduin spent most of her time out doors in the rainforest near the Pino's Oahu home. There Cunfiduin "listened" to nature. She was always the first person anyone would talk to when they needed to talk. Everyone felt drawn to Cunfiduin's nature and she enjoyed listening to them and giving helpful advice to them when needed. She always felt it a privilege that people spoke to her and as such kept all conversations confidential unless it was a life or death issue.

Confiduin visited with her family many disaster sites and she was impressed with how Starfleet had compassion for those affected by tragedy. She made her decision after many many years of working with different humanitarian organizations and the passing of her family to join Starfleet.

Cunfiduin has had a rather unremarkable medical history. Her people in general have always been healthy.

However, it did take years of therapy for Confiduin to "recover" from the loss of her family and homeworld.
