Turok's parents, Marek and Selia, were Vulcan traders. Turok was their only child. While on a delivery mission to Ferenginar with their newborn son, their ship was destroyed by a mysterious crash. Since their cargo had yet to be paid for the Ferengi who owned the shipment, Brill, claimed Turok, who had somehow survived the crash, as his indentured servant. As a young child Turok served in mines of Ferenginar. With the death Brill's only child he grew much fonder of Turok and took him into his home as his own son. Turok then studied at the finest Ferengi schools and with the best Ferengi tutors. As he grew older Turok was then trained in the art of combat by both Ferengi and klingon combat masters. After completing this training Turok competed in numerous combat tournaments throughout the quadrant. After a competing Ferengi killed Brill and stole his fortune, Turok, left with nothing, traveled the quadrant fighting in combat tournaments to survive. After a chance meeting a tournament with an admiral from Starfleet, Turok decided to join Starfleet; he applied and was accepted at the age of 25. After his life of combat and taking many lives, Turok decided to make amends by joining Starfleet medical. Since Turok did not have a traditional Vulcan upbringing he does not have the ability to control his emotions like most Vulcans and has been known to show them quite vividly in the past. Turok enjoys all types of gambling and games of chance. Given his Ferengi upbringing he is not adverse to any business ventures.
